Llys Arthur, Llanelli

This development of five specially designed bungalows for people with physical disabilities is the third phase of Coleshill Resettlement Programme. Coleshill is a traditional residential care home which the local authority is anxious to use for other purposes. Over the last few years Family Housing Association has built six bungalows for the rehousing of Coleshill residents on Station Road in Llanelli allowing them to take a more active role in the community and to take advantage of the amenities of central Llanelli. The Arthur Street bungalows are to be constructed in an equally central location and will rehouse the remaining Coleshill residents. The Association has worked closely with Carmarthenshire County Council's Social Services and the projects architect to ensure that each bungalow meets the needs of the proposed tenants as closely as possible.

Fairfield Court Phase II

This dormer bungalow completes the Fairfield Court project of three specially designed properties for people with physical disabilities.

Family Housing Association had developed a high degree of expertise working with our local authority partners and this project is no exception. The City and County of Swansea has identified two individuals - one wheel chair user and one individual with visual impairment - and the Association has held a series of meetings with occupational therapists and social workers to ensure that their particular requirements are fully met. The property is due to be completed in the Autumn of 2007.

Ann Street, Llanelli

Family Housing Association's Ann Street development comprises 10 one bedroom flats and two one bedroom bungalows close to central Llanelli. The project is targeted at childless couples and single households who are currently living in unsuitable accommodation, for example overcrowding the family home. The development is due to be completed in the Autumn of 2007.

Cwrt Waddle, Llanelli

This is a development of four two bedroom bungalows, again, close to centre of Llanelli which will be let either to older couples or where one partner has a degree of physical disability but is capable of independent living. The layout of these units follows the "pattern book" layouts designed by experts at the Welsh Assembly Government to ensure they have the maximum flexibility to accommodate this client group.

Hazel Court, Sketty Park

This exciting new development, due to open in 2008, will have 120 flats, 1 and 2 bedrooms, all designed for wheelchair accessibility, and hardwired for assistive technology. In addition there will be many communal facilities, including a Health Suite; Restaurant; Community Hall; Craft, Hobbies, Library and IT suites, and landscaped gardens.

An on site staff team will provide support and domiciliary care services to tenants who need them.

The scheme is close to local shops and amenities, and bus routes into the City centre.

Drovers Point, Gowerton

This 26 flat scheme is also due to open in 2008. The 1 & 2 bedroom flats are designed for full wheelchair accessibility and hard wired to enable the installation of assistive technology. There is a communal facility for use by tenants and these facilities are also available to the wider Gowerton community. Gowerton shops are within short walking distance, and buses into Swansea pass the door.
