Shared Ownership - Castle Housing
Many people would like to own their own home but are unable to do so because they are unable to afford a full mortgage for many reasons, such as low income or insufficient savings.
Shared Ownership is not about sharing your accommodation with anyone else, but it is a scheme which allows people who cannot presently afford outright home ownership to get a foot onto the property ladder.
The Deferred Shared Ownership Tenancy gives you the right to buy an additional share at any time, either in one go or in stages, at it's market value so that you could eventually own your own home outright when you can afford to do so. As your share of the property increases, the rent you have to pay is correspondingly lower - this is known as "stair-casing".
It is important to note under Shared Ownership you are the owner and legal occupier of your home.
The following are the certain areas where our Shared Ownership properties are located:
- Morriston, Swansea
- Llangennith, Gower
- Llwynhendy, Llanelli
- Pemberton, Llanelli
- Glanamman, Ammanford
- Ffairfach, Llandeilo
