If you want to apply for housing with Family Housing Association (Wales) Ltd. you will need to give us a completed
application form. To get one of these simply:-
- Call into our office in Walter Road between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
- Give our lettings team a call on 01792 482702 and they will send you one in the post.
- Download and print a copy of the form here. (This requires Acrobat Reader).
Complete the form and either drop it into the office or send it by post.
If you have any queries about the form please contact us.
Do I qualify?
Our properties are very popular and demand is high. As a result they are allocated to those in greatest need and
not just on a first-come first-served basis. Whether we can accept you onto our waiting list will depend on your
personal circumstances.
What happens when we receive your application form?
We will assess the information you give on the application form and if we do not have any questions or need any
more information we will send a letter to you detailing your points awarded and whether we will accept your
application onto our waiting lists. However, if we have any questions about your application, or need any more
information, we will put your form on hold until we have all the information we need.
Before we make any offer of accommodation we will arrange a home visit to check the information given on the
application form. Generally, we will offer an empty property to the person applying in the appropriate category with
the highest points assessment.
We will make any offer of accommodation in writing.
We have an ongoing review of all applications for re-housing, and we will probably contact you every six months
whilst you are on our waiting list to check that you still want to be re-housed and whether your circumstances have
changed in any way. It is very important to return the appropriate slip, which we will send you, within the time
allowed during the review.
What should I do if my circumstances change?
You must tell us about any change in circumstances which may affect your points award. For example, a change of
address, a change in marital status, your number of dependants and so on. If you do not do this it could affect any
offer of accommodation in the future. If your circumstances have changed we will reassess your application in line
with the points scheme, which is attached to our lettings policy, and we will tell you about any changes to the
points awarded to your application.
